When I try and think of a way that I can accurately describe this movie, I will inevitably fail. Words cannot describe what this film made me feel. It may come down to pure, raw emotion. The return of Mikey from ‘Swingers’ kept me interested, and the dialog was very unique and endearing. But nothing covers up the pure shock, the horror of the concept behind the movie. Let me try to put it into perspective: combine the ‘Pulp Fiction’ scene where Vincent shoots Marvin in the face with the climactic scene in Seven, and you kind of get the emotion that ‘Very Bad Things’ evokes. I was utterly appalled, and actually wished everyone had died so we wouldn’t have to witness the final scene, which once and for all removes the line that borders between shock and poor taste. That said, this movie would have made Quentin T. proud.

This is a tough one to call. I can't say that Very Bad Things was awful. However I can't say that it was great either. At the same time it doesn't seem quite right to give it an average rating, because there was nothing average about this movie. It was at times wickedly funny. At other times it was appalling, occasionally at the same times it was funny. Comparisons to the final scene of Seven are appropriate, I had much the same feeling throughout this movie that that scene induced.

The question still remains. What did I think? Well, I liked it. If for no other reason than it was completely lacking in taste and showed the nerve to stomp on political correctness. This movie feared offending no person, minority, or concept of morality. It served up gratuitous nudity, senseless violence, and characters with a shocking lack of morals. I have to applaud that level of bravery in our currently timid national mindset, afraid to speak for fear of offending someone. If this movie had come out 15 years ago, I probably wouldn't have been as impressed.

This movie defies logic. I don't think that it deserves the credit of Wild Things or Starship Troopers (forever the benchmarks for a TNMC five-star) but it definitely tried to be bad. Unfortunately, I don't think it did bad well enough. I really was just quite disturbed by the whining and the more whining and I thought the movie drew out for way too long. Getting to see Cameron Diaz open a can of whoop ass was worth the price of admission though.

This movie rocked. Unlike Mad Matt, I would bury bodies for you guyz (except for the Shankster of course).

Very bad things had all of the potential to be a really good bad movie, but it's really tough to enjoy with your wife sitting next to you reminding you how awful every scene is. Think Heather's only far worse and far more outlandish. I'm still disturbed from the things that happened and I'm kind of disappointed that Cameron Diaz didn't die, because she wouldn't stop whining. I'm never going to a bachelor party again, especially not one in Las Vegas.......

I don't know how to rate this movie. All I know is that this movie really frightened me, mostly because my own bachelor party is coming up, and it's in Vegas. Having said that, I give this movie two stars. This favorable rating is totally out of respect for the really hot asian honey who played the unfortunate hooker who get nailed, literally and figuratively, in the bathroom. One more thing, if Mad Matt kills a hooker in Vegas I'm calling 911.
