Julia Roberts has agreed to star in the film Mona Lisa Smile for Revolution Studios. The movie tells the story of a free-spirited UC Berkeley graduate who goes to Wellesley in 1953 to teach a group of young women. The script was written by Larry Konner and Mark Rosenthal. At this point no director has been selected. Production should begin in spring 2002.
