DVD Releases for 28 November, 2000
Well, it's been a pretty good run lately for dvds, and if you're like me, that means your wallet is a little lighter these days. So, it may be a good thing that I don't see any "must buy" dvds for the average consumer for the next several weeks. But, as always, I'm sure there is somebody out there just clamoring for one of more of this week's releases, so - here they are.
- Big Momma's House -- A one joke movie to be sure, but it's a funny joke. To everybody's surprise, this out-earned The Nutty Professor 2, putting Martin Lawrence on at least an even par with Eddie Murphy, box office-wise.
- The Replacements -- Well, what did you expect from from Keanu? I actually think he made a good decision. A football comedy couldn't be any more un-Matrix, so I respect him for that. That's not to say I recommend this movie...
- The In Crowd -- Guaranteed to be "In" at your local video store, and not because they'll have 100 copies....
- Lain - DVD Box Set -- for you anime afficionados. This is pretty good stuff. An exploration of consciousness amidst some top-notch animation. Also for the anime fan: Wings of Honneamise streets this week.
- The X-Files Season II -- yeah, I know -- I jumped the gun on this one a few weeks ago. Strangely enough, no one caught the error. That either means no cares about X-Files anymore (gasp!) or you're a bunch of lazy bastards. Correct me when I'm wrong! The only reason I'm not labeling this "must buy" is due to the high price tag. (well over a $100)
That's about it for this week. Not really anything else notable.
